In an inspiring collaboration, 11 youth organizations from Cox’s Bazar jointly celebrated International Volunteer Day on Thursday, December 5. 

The event took place at the Hotel Beach View auditorium, commencing with the national anthem. 

Each participating organization presented their goals, activities, and contributions, showcasing the impact of youth-led initiatives in the region.

Award-winning architect Rizvi Hasan, a recipient of the prestigious Aga Khan Award, led the event’s keynote session and shared insights on sustainable design and creative solutions.

S.M. Sadek, founder of the Bangladesh Research Society, encouraged the youth to foster research and innovation. 

A group insight session titled “Vision for Cox’s Bazar 2025” was moderated by Maksudul Haque, guiding participants in collaborative discussions on the region’s future development.

Prominent speakers included Ashish Chandra Pal, Upazila Youth Development Officer; Ektaaruddin Mohammad Bayejid, Liaison Officer at UNHCR; Mohammad Mushfiqur Rahman, National Consultant for the ILO-ISEC Project; and S.M. Suzauddin, a member of the National Citizen Committee.

The event also honored four dedicated youth leaders—Muhammad Mohiuddin, Hasna Hoorain Chowdhury, Kazi Mizanur Rahman, and Ibrahim Khalil—for their long-standing commitment to volunteerism.

Additionally, Jimran Mohammad Saiak, who represented Bangladesh at COP conferences, received recognition for his impactful work on climate change.

The celebration highlighted the invaluable contributions of volunteers, aimed to inspire youth, and emphasized the power of collective action in building a brighter future.

The event was organized collaboratively by the following youth organizations: Embolden Bangladesh, Better Together BD, Aastha Foundation, CHRDF, HTF, SSD Youth Foundation, Spandan Bangladesh, Diba Swapnachari, Unity Power Youth Welfare Organization, JYDA, and Topper Platform.
