A fishing rod caught a massive 25-kilogram coral fish in the Naf River near Shah Porir Island in Teknaf on Sunday (November 24) around 11 a.m. Later, the fish were sold for Tk 20,000, with each kilogram costing Tk800.
Fisherman Md. Khair Hossain, who reeled in the giant fish, shared his experience. He was fishing near the Naf River corridor jetty that morning when his rod suddenly snagged something enormous. Realizing the size of the fish, he sought help from fellow fishermen to pull it out of the water. Together, they managed to lift the prized catch after significant effort.
According to Teknaf Upazila Fisheries Officer Md. Delwar Hossain, the Naf River, frequently harbors large coral fish. These fish are highly sought after in the country for their exceptional taste, making them a premium commodity.
