Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today said that mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over different parts of the country.
“Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi division and the districts of Tangail, Manikgonj, Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Jashore and Chuadanga and it may continue,” said a BMD bulletin issued this morning commencing 9am.
The BMD predicted that rain or thundershowers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at one or two places over the Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.
The weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy skies elsewhere over the country.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The country’s maximum temperature on Thursday was 39.0 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi district in Rajshahi division, and the minimum temperature today was 22.0 degrees Celsius at Tetulia in Rangpur division and Sylhet district in Sylhet division.
The sun sets today at 06.25pm and rises at 05.28am tomorrow in the capital.
