The Bangladesh Coast Guard has provided free medical services and distributed essential medicines to Saint Martin’s Island residents. Coast Guard media officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq confirmed the initiative on Monday, April 28.
He stated that since its inception, the Bangladesh Coast Guard has been extending humanitarian support to disadvantaged communities living along coastal and riverine areas. Through regular medical camps, they have consistently offered free healthcare services to underprivileged and low-income populations.
As part of this commitment, the Bangladesh Coast Guard ship Tajuddin organized a medical camp at Coast Guard Station Saint Martin’s from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on April 28. During the camp, over a hundred impoverished, destitute, and underprivileged individuals, including children, received free medical consultations and necessary medicines.
Medical Officer Surgeon Lieutenant Salman Mehdi Ankon, AMC led the medical camp.
Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq added that the Bangladesh Coast Guard will continue to carry out such humanitarian initiatives in the future.
