The Meteorological Department has reported that there is currently no possibility of stormy winds in the northern Bay of Bengal, Bangladesh’s coastal areas, and maritime ports.

Consequently, all cautionary signals have been instructed to be lifted at the Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra seaports.

Abdul Hannan, Assistant Meteorologist at the Cox’s Bazar Weather Office, stated, “A total of 50 millimeters of rainfall was recorded in Cox’s Bazar over the past 24 hours until 9 AM. The weather situation is gradually improving now.”

For the past four days, a No. 3 local warning signal had been advised at four seaports in the country. Initially, a low-pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal, which later developed into a well-defined low pressure.

It gradually intensified into a depression and subsequently a deep depression. This deep depression struck Cox’s Bazar severely, resulting in the ports being kept on high alert.

With the withdrawal of warning signals, people in Cox’s Bazar and the coastal regions have felt some relief. However, the Weather Office has advised everyone to remain cautious until further instructions are issued.
