The State Guest House Jamuna is effectively a plastic bottle-free zone as Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus gave his nod to do this.
According to a Facebook post of Shafiqul Alam, press secretary of the Chief Adviser, the Adviser for environment, forestry, and climate change, Syeda Rizwana Hasan took the initiative and told her fellow cabinet members that they should stop using plastic bottles.
Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus gave his nod and now Jamuna can be effectively called a plastic bottle-free zone.
Initially, it was thought that it was not doable, but it has been about a week since the officials of the guest house didn’t use plastic bottled water.
Earlier, bottled water was everywhere at Jamuna and half-litre plastic bottles can be seen on every dining table. Guests at the Jamuna would drink from a disposable plastic bottle.
