Burmese-style fried peanuts are a cherished traditional snack of Cox’s Bazar. Although many people refer to them as “Burmese peanuts,” these snacks have no real connection to Burma (Myanmar). Instead, this flavorful treat is locally made, with roasted peanuts as the main ingredient, seasoned with spices for an irresistible taste.
Served hot and crispy, these peanuts have become a favorite for both locals and visitors. Tourists in particular find them a delightful snack to enjoy while strolling along the beach.
Over the years, the snack has earned several names—some call it “Burmese peanuts,” others “Cox’s Bazar peanuts” or simply “fried peanuts”—but whatever the name, its crunchy charm remains the same.
