Himchari Waterfall and picnic spot, one of Cox’s Bazar’s most scenic natural attractions, is witnessing a growing influx of tourists eager to spend time amid nature.

With panoramic views of the vast sea on one side and lush green hills on the other, the destination remains popular with visitors year-round.

Every day, families and groups of friends enjoy the clear water cascading down the hills and the surrounding natural setting.

While some tourists take photographs beside the waterfall, others ascend to the hilltop to appreciate the breathtaking landscape.

Niaz Chowdhury, a tourist visiting from Mirpur in Dhaka, said he had long heard about the Himchhari waterfall and planned his trip to Cox’s Bazar specifically to see it. You can see the vast sea at a glance from the top of the hill. It is truly an amazing experience,’ he said.

Another visitor, Farhana Yasmin, said being so close to nature brought a sense of calm. ‘The sound of the waterfall and the greenery of the hills have been very soothing,’ she added.

Tourists also noted that the Himchhari authorities have recently constructed new stairways leading to the hilltop, allowing tourists to climb safely. Many expressed satisfaction with the initiative, saying it has reduced risks and made the site more accessible, particularly for families.

Local residents said that Himchhari could become even more attractive to visitors if security measures were further strengthened and greater attention was given to environmental conservation.
