Despite the intense heat during the month of Boishakh, coastal tourist spots in Cox’s Bazar are witnessing a surge in visitors. Marine Drive road and the Himchari tourist destination, in particular, have seen a large influx of tourists.

On-site observations show that travelers from across the country are visiting in groups to enjoy the scenic beauty of Marine Drive, even in the blazing sun. The combination of the blue sea on one side and green hills on the other offers a refreshing experience.

Himchari, known for its hills, waterfalls, and cool breeze, has also become a popular retreat. Many visitors are spending time with family members, taking photos, and enjoying the natural surroundings.

Tourist Rakib Hasan said, “The heat is strong, but the beauty of Marine Drive and the sea breeze make it quite bearable. That’s why we came here with family.”

Local business owners said the increase in tourist arrivals at the beginning of the season has had a positive impact on their businesses. Hotels, motels, restaurants, and other tourism-related sectors are seeing renewed activity.

Tourism stakeholders believe that despite the heat, the natural beauty of Cox’s Bazar continues to attract visitors, which is a positive sign for the country’s tourism industry.

However, they stressed the need to strengthen measures to ensure tourists’ safety and comfort.
