Cox’s Bazar district police have extended humanitarian assistance to families affected by more than a week of heavy rainfall and flooding across the district.
On Sunday, police distributed relief supplies among flood-hit and waterlogged households in several areas of Chakaria and Pekua upazilas.
Cox’s Bazar Superintendent of Police ANM Shajadur Rahman and Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Mohammad Shamim Kabir handed over relief materials to affected families in Kaiyarbil and Baraitali of Chakaria, and Toitong and Nandirpara in Pekua.
Alongside the relief distribution, the police officials met with flood-affected residents, enquired about their wellbeing and listened to their immediate needs and concerns.
The district police said their humanitarian support would continue to ensure that emergency assistance reaches families affected by the flooding.
Speaking during the relief distribution, the superintendent of police said the Cox’s Bazar district police remained committed to standing by people during disasters and would continue providing necessary assistance and humanitarian support whenever needed.
