The Bay of Bengal Marathon 2026 will be held at Inani Beach in Cox’s Bazar on September 27, marking World Tourism Day 2026.
Sports event management company The AthleteX is organising the event, with overall support from the Cox’s Bazar district administration.
The marathon will have three categories — 42.2km, 21.1km and 10km — with runners from across the country expected to take part.
According to the organisers, the event aims to promote Cox’s Bazar as a tourism destination by combining sports with tourism and to contribute to the development of sports tourism in Bangladesh.
They said participants would have the opportunity to experience the area’s natural landscape, local culture, food and hospitality alongside the race.
The organisers also said the event would promote tourism while remaining responsible to nature and the environment.
