Because of the possibility of heavy rainfall in the country and upstream, the rivers in Chattogram division may swell rapidly in the next three days and submerge some low-lying areas of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Bandarban, Khagrachhari, Feni, Cumilla, Noakhali, Laxmipur districts, UNB reported citing the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC).

The water level of all the major rivers of the country is flowing below the danger level while the water level of Feni, Muhuri, Halda, Sangu, and Matamuhuri rivers of Chittagong division is increasing, while the water level of Gumti River is decreasing.

In the next two days, the water level of the rivers in the Sylhet division may remain steady but may flow below the danger level.

The water level of rivers in Barisal and Khulna divisions is steady.

According to the forecasts of heavy rain by the meteorological agencies, the water level of the rivers of Barisal and Khulna divisions may increase in the next three days.
