The Industrial and Trade Fair 2026–27 began in Cox’s Bazar on Monday, with the Cox’s Bazar Chamber of Commerce and Industry inaugurating the event through a ceremony.

Cox’s Bazar-3 lawmaker Lutfur Rahman Kajal attended the inauguration as the chief guest. Chamber president Abdul Shukkur presided over the programme.

Also present were fair implementation committee chairman and municipal BNP president Rafiqul Huda Chowdhury, and Assistant Superintendent of Police Faisal of Tourist Police Cox’s Bazar Region.

The chamber’s vice-president Sheikh Ashikuzzaman and directors Mukim Khan, Mohammad Ali and Abu Farhan, among others, were also present, along with local political, social and business leaders.

Speakers at the ceremony said the fair would help boost the local economy, expand trade and create opportunities for new entrepreneurs. They also said it would offer an additional recreational attraction for tourists and local residents in the tourism city.

The organisers hope the fair will provide local businesses with opportunities to showcase their products and expand their markets.
