Local forest department officials rescued a 10-foot-long python, weighing 10 kg, from Fasiakhali in Chakaria Upazila of Cox’s Bazar today (September 16) around 11:00m.

Fasiakhali Range Officer Md Mehraj Uddin said the python was found near an army camp adjacent to Fasiakhali Beat in Chakaria.

After rescuing the snake, they provided it with medical treatment and released it safely into the Fasiakhali Wildlife Sanctuary.

Anwar Hossain, Divisional Officer of Cox’s Bazar North Forest Division, said that many pythons have been caught in the past. When these snakes enter populated areas, people often harm them out of fear.
