The government has given the power of special executive magistrate to the Bangladesh Army across the country.
Commissioned officers of the army have been given this power.
The government has granted judicial powers to the army in areas outside the metropolitan regions.
This decision was announced in a notification of the Ministry of Public Administration on Today (September 17).
This decision will be effective from Tuesday and will remain in force for the next two months.
According to a gazette notification issued by the ministry, the eligible army officers will be able to act as executive magistrates under the supervision of district magistrates or deputy commissioners across the country.
