Cox’s Bazar sits along the banks of the Bakkhali River, where many locals rely on the river for their livelihood. Families adapt to the river’s flow—some as fishermen, others as boatmen.
Jainal has spent 18 years rowing boats along the Bakkhali River to earn a living. He spends his mornings at the fish landing center and his afternoons offering river tours to tourists and locals.
He shared with *Cox’s Bazar Life* that his mornings are dedicated to transporting fish from fishing trawlers to the Fishery Ghat. In the afternoons, he takes passengers on boat rides, offering them the chance to enjoy the serene beauty of the river.
