Bamboo cups, once a novelty in tourist spots across the country, are now gaining popularity as an eco-friendly alternative to chemically produced melamine.
Though rarely seen in homes, these handcrafted bamboo cups offer a sustainable and aesthetically pleasing option for everyday use.
Entrepreneur Raihanul Haque has been selling these traditional-crafted cups at Sugandha Point in Cox’s Bazar.
After harvesting the bamboo, he told Cox’s Bazar Life that he carefully selects and shapes suitable sections into cups.
He added that these cups are visually appealing and an environmentally responsible choice.
