Jabed Nur Shantaw is a Cox’s Bazar-based youth climate activist and founder of Climate Justice Bangladesh. His organization is working to address the growing climate crisis and amplify local voices in the fight for environmental justice.
Under his leadership, the organization has become a platform for organizing youth and communities at the grassroots and policy levels to combat climate change.
Shantaw has been at the forefront of several climate movements, consistently advocating for sustainable development.
His activism focuses on environmental justice within Bangladesh and on global platforms.
In line with the spirit of global climate movements like Fridays for Future, he also founded the Climate Club, a youth-led initiative that aims to engage students and young activists in climate action.
Passion and perseverance have fuelled Shantaw’s journey to success. He has earned a reputation as a bold advocate for the environment by leading protests, campaigns, and awareness programs.
His initiatives have drawn attention to the environmental and social impacts of energy policies in Bangladesh. He has made significant strides in raising awareness and pushing for climate-friendly policies through collaborations with local and global organizations.
