The deep depression over the east-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas has intensified into Cyclone Dana as it moved further northwest. As a result, all maritime ports in Bangladesh have been instructed to hoist cautionary signal number two.
On Wednesday, the Meteorological Department shared this information in a special bulletin (No. 4).
According to the bulletin, the cyclone was located 695 kilometers south-southwest of Chattogram port, 620 kilometers south-southwest of Cox’s Bazar port, 695 kilometers south-southeast of Mongla port, and 645 kilometers south-southeast of Payra port. The cyclone is likely to continue moving northwest and intensify further.
