Every October, people worldwide celebrate “International Lead Poisoning Prevention Week 2024” to increase awareness of the risks of lead exposure and promote preventive measures.
This year, Cox’s Bazar participated in the observance, focusing on the theme, “Bright Future Begin Lead Free.”
In collaboration with UNICEF, YouthNet Global, and Pure Earth Bangladesh, the week featured awareness rallies, human chains, and seminars across the district to highlight the harmful effects of lead exposure.
Over 100 participants joined the rally, including YouthNet Global volunteers, Pure Earth and UNICEF representatives, local NGO members, environmental activists, and representatives from various government offices.
