Today marks World Diabetes Day, and Dr Shaheen Abdur Rahman Chowdhury, a specialist in medicine, diabetes, rheumatology, and cardiology, shared an important message with Cox’s Bazar Life on the need for diabetes awareness.
He highlighted this year’s theme, “Breaking Barriers, Bridging Gaps,” emphasizing the goal of reducing diabetes risks and ensuring equal, accessible, and quality care for all diabetes patients.
“World Diabetes Day serves as a valuable opportunity to raise awareness about diabetes and underscore the importance of its prevention, diagnosis, and management, both individually and collectively,” he said.
Dr. Shaheen also explained that diabetes is a metabolic disease with multiple contributing factors. He encouraged balanced eating habits, regular exercise, and a disciplined lifestyle as effective ways to prevent and control diabetes.
