The Cox’s Bazar District Development Coordination Committee held a meeting on Sunday (November 17) morning at the Shaheed ATM Jafar Alam Conference Hall at the district administration’s initiative. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Salah Uddin presided over the meeting.
Several important decisions were made during the meeting, including illuminating Marine Drive Road and other key thoroughfares, setting vehicle speed limits, improving waste management, addressing waterlogging and traffic congestion, and forming a committee to implement canal excavation programs.
In his address, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of public involvement and integrated planning for ensuring the district’s overall development.
He urged the concerned authorities to take necessary actions against using banned polythene, seal illegal sawmills, and control the prices of essential commodities.
The Deputy Commissioner also highlighted the need to strengthen scouting programs in the district’s educational institutions and stressed the importance of student skill development activities like debate competitions.
