The International Labour Organization (ILO) organized a discussion meeting on sustainable development through local tourism growth, enhancing women’s economic participation, and improving youth skills under its ISEC project.

The meeting took place yesterday, Wednesday, at the Himchari Cooperative Society office. Key topics included reducing traffic congestion, ensuring quality services for tourists, and creating a conducive environment for businesses while addressing various challenges.

ILO-ISEC Project Team Leader Ibrahim Khalil Bhuiyan, Project Coordinator Maksudul Hoque, Cooperative Society President Md. Rashid, Abdul Mannan, and other members of society attended the event.

During the discussion, participants emphasized the need for effective market management, training, and technical support to attract more tourists. They also explored ways to harness the potential of the tourism sector to accelerate economic growth in the region.
