Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC (BSCCL) announced that the country’s first submarine cable system, SEA-ME-WE 4 (SMW4), located in Cox’s Bazar, will undergo maintenance work. The work aims to resolve existing issues and ensure optimal functionality.

A press release on Saturday, November 30, states that the maintenance activities will occur on Monday, December 2, from 3:00 AM to 5:59 AM (the night of December 1), for 2 hours and 59 minutes.

The maintenance will focus on the Chennai landing station at the Indian end and the Tuas landing station in Singapore. During this time, internet services routed through the Cox’s Bazar-Chennai and Cox’s Bazar-Singapore circuits will experience temporary disruptions.

The maintenance is part of BSCCL’s ongoing efforts to ensure the reliability and stability of the submarine cable system, which plays a critical role in Bangladesh’s internet connectivity.
