A district migration dialogue to ensure safe, orderly, and humane migration was held in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday (December 19) to strengthen the District Migration Coordination Committee (DMCC) activities.

Films 4 Peace Foundation organized the event, which The Asia Foundation and the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) supported.

Cox’s Bazar Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin was the chief guest, while BMET Director (Administration & Finance) Md. Masud Rana and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Overall) Md. Yamin Hossain attended as a special guest.

BMET Deputy Director Md. Ali Siddique elaborated on the DMCC’s objectives and activities. Films 4 Peace Foundation Executive Director Parvez Siddique presided over the dialogue, facilitated by Project Coordinator Mariam Proma.

Speakers included Fardin Rahman, the Asia Foundation’s Communications Coordinator; Mahbubur Rahman, president of Cox’s Bazar Press Club; and Ikram Chowdhury Tipu, NTV district correspondent. Representatives from government and non-government organizations, civil society, and the media participated.

The dialogue focused on enhancing stakeholder coordination to ensure transparent and just migration processes, emphasizing migrants’ rights and welfare at every step.
