Cox’s Bazar: A rally and Taekwondo competition were held in Cox’s Bazar as part of the Youth Festival, which aims to shape a new Bangladesh.
The Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation, in collaboration with the District Administration and District Sports Association, organized the event on Wednesday morning.
With the slogan “Let’s Change the Country, Let’s Change the World,” the rally started from Bir Shreshtha Ruhul Amin Indoor Stadium and paraded through Stadium Road before returning to the venue.
The competition was officially inaugurated at the indoor stadium by Cox’s Bazar Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin, who attended as the chief guest. In his speech, he emphasized that Taekwondo is not just a sport but also a means of physical fitness and discipline. He also stated that young athletes can develop essential life skills through sports, helping them grow into well-rounded individuals.
The event was presided over by Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation’s General Secretary Mahmudul Islam Rana. Additional Deputy Commissioner Nizam Uddin Ahmed, District Sports Officer Main Uddin Milky, District Taekwondo Federation’s General Secretary Sheikh Md. Abdullah, and sports organizer Sarwar Romman also addressed the audience.
National and district-level Taekwondo federation members, players, and guardians attended the event.
Following the competition, prizes were awarded to the winners. 250 athletes from various Taekwondo organizations across the district participated in the competition.
