In the hustle and bustle of city life, people have become increasingly mechanical. Once, mornings would begin with the cheerful chirping of birds, but now, the honking of cars and the ringing of rickshaw bells serve as the daily wake-up call.
However, with a little effort, people can bring a touch of nature into their lives—waking up to the sweet melodies of birds in their own homes. Creating a natural space on balconies or rooftops can keep caged birds, adding a refreshing escape from urban monotony.
This trend is particularly evident in the tourist city of Cox’s Bazar, where the number of bird enthusiasts is rising. Pet bird shops are also flourishing, offering a variety of species such as Munia, Lovebirds, Budgerigars, Parakeets, Cockatiels, Finches, various types of doves, Rosellas, and Canaries. With proper care, these birds can live for many years, bringing joy and companionship to their owners.
These pet shops sell birds as well as other domesticated animals like cats and rabbits, along with specialized food and accessories. As urban stress levels climb, more people find solace in nurturing these feathered companions, making pet bird culture a growing phenomenon in Cox’s Bazar.
