The haphazard management of electrical and internet cables in various parts of Cox’s Bazar has reached alarming levels. Major roads and commercial areas are cluttered with tangled wires, posing serious safety risks for residents and visitors alike.

These dangling wires can snap during strong winds or storms, leading to life-threatening accidents or even fires. Experts warn that this unplanned wiring not only mars the city’s beauty but also gives tourists a negative impression.

Local businessman and resident Hossain Badruddoza told Cox’s Bazar Life that repeated complaints have failed to take effective action. The lack of coordination among the power authorities, cable operators, and internet service providers has prolonged this issue.

Residents are calling on authorities to take immediate responsibility—either by moving the cables underground or organizing them in a structured manner. This mismanagement could negatively impact the city’s environment, economy, and public safety without proper action.

Providing a solution to this problem is now necessary to preserve the city’s aesthetics and the well-being of its residents.
