An abundant seafood supply has led to a drop in fish prices across Cox’s Bazar. Since the beginning of Ramadan, local markets have been flooded with marine fish.

Fishermen report that their nets yield diverse fish, although the hilsa catch remains relatively low. The bustling Fishery Ghat in Cox’s Bazar is now packed with fresh seafood, leading to a thriving trade. Wholesalers purchase fish from the ghat and distribute them to different local markets.

Vendors confirm that prices have decreased due to the steady supply. A visit to the market reveals an array of seafood, including hilsa, rupchanda, Laksha, coral, churi, guijja, loitta, and koi coral.
