As part of the year-long celebrations marking the 150th anniversary of Cox’s Bazar Government High School, its alumni association, Kosubi Ex-Students’ Council (CBGHS Ex-Students’ Council), is set to host a special iftar event titled Kosubian Iftar on March 29 at the school premises.
This unique gathering aims to extend a message of Solidarity for Palestine by inviting international representatives to participate. Muhibbul Muqtadir Tanim, one of the organizers, emphasized, “This is more than just an iftar; it reflects our heritage, humanitarian values, and social responsibility.”
The noted photographer and Ekushey Padak recipient Shahidul Alam will be present to express his solidarity with Palestinian representatives.
Yasir Arafat from the class of 2001 shared that a special discussion on The Bay of Bengal’s Role in the Spread of Islam will be held, featuring insights from Islamic scholars and historians. Additionally, Shahjan Chowdhury from the class of 2007 stated that arrangements have been made for 150 orphaned and underprivileged children to join the iftar.
The Kosubi Ex-Students’ Council has previously organized impactful initiatives, including a graffiti unveiling, winter clothing distribution, a handwriting competition, and International Mother Language Day celebrations—all of which have garnered widespread appreciation.
