As the Bengali New Year approaches, the streets and markets of Cox’s Bazar are bustling with shoppers searching for festive outfits for Pohela Boishakh, a cultural celebration deeply rooted in Bengali tradition.
From cotton sarees and punjabis to vibrant T-shirts, local shops offer various outfits designed to keep comfort in mind during the summer heat. Traders say cotton remains the top choice due to its breathability and suitability for the season.
Markets also stock a colorful collection of children’s wear, with printed T-shirts featuring playful designs gaining popularity. Shoppers, both locals and tourists, flock to the city’s markets, adding to the festive spirit that marks the Bengali New Year celebration.
