Bangladesh has claimed the SAFF Women’s Football Championship title for the second consecutive time, clinching victory over Nepal on October 30. The team members have celebrated this proud moment uniquely, embracing the triumph.
In 2022, Argentina’s World Cup win saw an iconic photo of Lionel Messi asleep, clutching the trophy, which quickly went viral. That image has since become a trend, symbolizing triumph in sports and inspiring similar celebratory moments. Following those footsteps, members of Bangladesh’s national women’s football team have shared their stories of victory on Facebook.
One of these champions, Shaheda Akter Ripa from Sonarpara, Ukhiya, in Cox’s Bazar, has shown her talent since youth and is now a regular in the national team.
Early on the morning of October 31, Ripa posted a photo of herself holding the trophy, captioning it: “Alhamdulillah. It was a dreamlike night, where I slept alongside the champion’s trophy.” She ended the post with a promise to her homeland: “InshaAllah, I’ll be returning home today as a champion.”
