Emphasizing that primary education forms the foundation of a nation’s education system, Advisor Prof. Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education stated, “The interim government is implementing extensive reforms and initiatives to advance this sector.”
He made the remarks while delivering the keynote address at the inaugural session of the “Headteachers’ Skill Development Training” organized jointly by the Cox’s Bazar District Primary Education Office and the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) on Wednesday (August 13).
The advisor added, “A headteacher is not merely the leader of a school; they are a community leader. Through their leadership and competencies, they can ensure student attendance and implement quality education effectively, playing a vital role in the country’s overall development.”
The event, held at the Leadership Training Centre auditorium adjacent to the Cox’s Bazar District Primary Education Office, was presided over by DPE Director General Abu Noor Md. Shamsuzzaman.
Special guests included Secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education Abu Taher Masud Rana, Cox’s Bazar Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin, and Superintendent of Police Md. Saifuddin Shaheen. Senior officials from the ministry and directorate, district education and primary education officers, as well as representatives from various levels, were also present.
This full-day training, organized by the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) and the National Academy for Primary Education (NAPE), is attended by headteachers from 40 primary schools across the district.
The training will focus on enhancing leadership skills, effective communication, team management, problem-solving, and decision-making, and fostering self-awareness among teachers, among other key areas.
