The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced candidates for 36 more constituencies ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir unveiled the new list on Thursday afternoon at a press conference held at the party chairperson’s office in Gulshan.

In the newly disclosed list, Alamgir Mohammad Mahfujullah Farid has been nominated for Cox’s Bazar-2 (Maheshkhali–Kutubdia), the only remaining seat in the district that previously had no declared candidate. With this announcement, BNP has finally confirmed its contender for this key constituency.

Earlier, on November 3, the party named candidates for 237 out of 300 seats. At that time, three constituencies in Cox’s Bazar received nominations, while Cox’s Bazar-2 was left vacant. The party has now finalized its choice for the seat, selecting Forid, a two-time former Member of Parliament.

According to party sources, Forid was chosen based on his long political experience, organizational strength in the area, and local popularity.

With the release of the new list, the BNP’s candidate selection process for the upcoming national election has moved one step closer to completion.
