Army Chief Waker-Uz-Zaman visited the ongoing winter military exercise in the Dr. Kata village of Kachhapia Union, Ramu, Cox’s Bazar, on Sunday (December 29).
According to a statement of the ISPR, arriving at 12:30 PM via a special helicopter at the Nasir-Noorjahan Girls’ High School field, the Army Chief commenced his visit by inaugurating a blanket distribution program for residents of Kachhapia and Naikhongchhari.
The Army distributed several hundred blankets to support vulnerable residents during the cold season.
After the distribution, General Waker-Uz-Zaman inspected various parts of the winter exercise before returning to Dhaka in the afternoon via helicopter.
Senior military officers from the Army Headquarters and Ramu Cantonment, junior commissioned officers, soldiers, and civilian staff were present during the event.
Eighty-year-old Nurul Haque, who received the blanket, expressed his gratitude, saying, “I feel honored to receive it directly from the Army Chief.”
Mojaffer Ahmed, the head of the local village committee, shared that hundreds of villagers gathered since the morning to witness the helicopter landing and catch a glimpse of the Army Chief.
