To commemorate World AIDS Day, Cox’s Bazar hosted a two-day awareness campaign and a free HIV screening program under the theme “Ensure Rights, End HIV/AIDS.”
The program, organized by the District Health Department, began today (December 1) at the District General Hospital to raise awareness about the dangers of this disease.
The inaugural session was attended by Dr. Mong Tingno, Superintendent of the District General Hospital, Civil Surgeon Dr. Asif Ahmed Howladar, and RMO Dr. Ashiqur Rahman, who addressed the gathering.
Health officials, doctors, and the District Health Department nurses were also present.
Speakers emphasized that adherence to religious principles, awareness campaigns, and mass education can significantly reduce the risk of AIDS. They highlighted the importance of discussing the dangers of AIDS in educational institutions, mosques, temples, and other religious spaces to promote widespread awareness.
