In anticipation of Youth Festival 2025, BRAC’s PLEASE Project conducted a beach cleanup drive at Cox’s Bazar Sea Beach.

The campaign was inaugurated Monday morning at Kolatoli Point by Nilufa Yasmin Chowdhury, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Cox’s Bazar Sadar.

According to BRAC officials, this initiative is part of the ‘Plastic-Free Rivers and Seas for South Asia (PLEASE)’ project, funded by the World Bank, which aims to raise awareness about plastic pollution and environmental conservation.

Key stakeholders from government offices, development sectors, media, hotels, and hospitality attended the event.

The beach cleanup campaign reflects a growing concern about plastic waste in coastal areas and aims to make Cox’s Bazar a cleaner, more eco-friendly tourist destination.
