The three-day Under-15 boys and girls beach football tournament, organized by the Department of Sports, concluded in Cox’s Bazar.
The final matches were held today at Divine Point on the city’s sea beach with the support of the District Administration and the District Sports Office.
In the boys’ final, Mymensingh defeated Barishal 2-0 to claim the championship. Meanwhile, in the girls’ category, Sylhet emerged victorious over Chattogram in a thrilling penalty shootout, winning 4-3 after the match ended 2-2 in regular time.
The closing ceremony and prize distribution were attended by the Chief Guest, Mahbubul Alam, Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The event was presided over by District Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin, with officials from the Department of Sports, team managers, and players present.
Awards were distributed to the winners and runners-up of both groups.
The knockout-style tournament, held on May 21, featured Under-15 boys’ and girls’ teams from eight divisions across the country.
