The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has distributed winter clothes to underprivileged and needy people in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar. Brigadier General M.M. Imrul Hasan, Regional Commander of the Cox’s Bazar Region, personally handed over the warm clothes to the recipients.
On Sunday, January 19, from morning to evening, the distribution program took place throughout Saint Martin’s Island, Shah Porir Dwip, and Damdamia areas.
Distribution Details
Lieutenant Colonel Ashiqur Rahman, Commander of Teknaf-2 BGB Battalion, confirmed that winter clothes, including blankets, were distributed among 100 needy individuals residing in the border areas under the responsibility of the Saint Martin’s Island BOP.
Additionally, 140 individuals from Damdamia and Shah Porir Dwip border areas received winter clothes earlier. The Border Family Welfare Association (Teknaf Sub-Branch) coordinated the assistance for another 200 people, resulting in a total of 440 beneficiaries.
The event was attended by Colonel Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed, Commander of the Sector Headquarters in Ramu, and Lieutenant Colonel Ashiqur Rahman, Commander of Teknaf-2 Battalion.
Speaking on the occasion, Brigadier General M.M. Imrul Hasan said, “BGB has always stood by the underprivileged and vulnerable members of society. This commitment will continue in the future as well.”
