The Border Guard Public School in Cox’s Bazar has been officially renamed as “Shaheed Elahi Manzoor Chowdhury Public School, Cox’s Bazar” to commemorate the extraordinary sacrifice and patriotism of Shaheed Elahi Manzoor Chowdhury.
The renaming ceremony was held on Wednesday (23 July) at 10:30 AM, organized by the Cox’s Bazar Battalion (34 BGB). According to BGB, the initiative was taken to keep the memory of Shaheed Elahi Manzoor Chowdhury alive for future generations.
Brigadier General Mohammad Aksar Khan, Region Commander of Cox’s Bazar, attended the event as the chief guest. Colonel Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed, Sector Commander of Ramu, and Lieutenant Colonel S M Khairul Alam, Commanding Officer of Cox’s Bazar Battalion (34 BGB), were present as special guests.
The ceremony was also attended by the Executive Engineer of Cox’s Bazar district, journalists from electronic and print media, local dignitaries, teachers, parents, and students of the school.
BGB noted that under its supervision, the newly named Shaheed Elahi Manzoor Chowdhury Public School has already established itself as one of the most reputable educational institutions in the Cox’s Bazar region. Alongside its academic achievements, the school has earned recognition for its success in co-curricular activities, sports, cultural programs, and creative competitions, establishing itself as a model institution in the region.
