Excitement surrounding the FIFA World Cup 2026 has already begun to build in Teknaf, even before the global football spectacle officially kicks off.

On Monday afternoon, hundreds of motorcycles and thousands of football fans joined a colourful rally organised by Brazil’s supporters, turning the Marine Drive area into a festive scene.

The procession began from the upazila gate and travelled through the Teknaf land port and the Marine Drive zero point before parading across different roads of the town.

Baha Uddin, one of the organisers, stated that they had mobilised supporters through the social media platform Facebook over the past several days.

“We arranged this bike rally to share our excitement and celebrate the spirit of the upcoming World Cup together,” he said.

The entire এলাকায় became vibrant with yellow-and-green flags, Neymar jerseys, the sound of vuvuzelas, and chants from enthusiastic supporters.

Fans said Brazil was not merely their favourite football team but also an emotion deeply connected to their passion for the game.

Across different parts of Teknaf, flags of Brazil, Argentina, and Germany fluttered.

House rooftops, walls, and alleyways have already adopted the colours of the World Cup atmosphere.

According to local residents, Teknaf transforms into a small football city whenever the World Cup approaches.
