A month-long environmental conservation and cleanliness program is currently underway in St. Martin’s Island, Bangladesh’s only coral-rich island, under the joint coordination of the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change. As part of this initiative, the Bangladesh Coast Guard has conducted a clean-up drive on the island.

On Wednesday (February 12) morning, members of the Bangladesh Coast Guard East Zone and residents of St. Martin’s Island actively participated in the initiative.

In a statement, the Coast Guard emphasized their commitment to environmental preservation, stating:

“The Bangladesh Coast Guard East Zone, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, is conducting a month-long environmental conservation and cleanliness program in St. Martin’s Island. Local residents have enthusiastically joined hands with the Coast Guard in this effort. We remain dedicated to continuing similar environmental initiatives in coastal and riverine areas under our jurisdiction in the future.”
