On Wednesday, December 11, a coordination meeting with the Child Marriage Prevention Committee was held at Ramu of Cox’s Bazar. The Child Safety Net Project of World Vision Bangladesh organized the conference, which took place at the Upazila Nirbahi Officer’s (UNO) office.
UNO Md. Rashedul Islam presided over the meeting and provided crucial guidelines for preventing child marriage in the region.
Prominent attendees included the Acting Principal of Ramu Government College, Supreme Barua; the principal of Merangloa Rahmania Islamia Dakhil Madrasa, Md. Rafiq; the Acting Headmaster of Ramu Khizari Government High School, Nurul Hossain; Kazi Abu Bakkar Siddique; Hindu priest Dr. Sujit Sharma; UP members Abdul Malek and Swapan Barua; and female UP member Khairunnessa Shahin.
Additionally, representatives from the Child Forum, including President Abu Bakkar and members Rafi Kayem and Fahim, participated.
The meeting emphasized strengthening community engagement and inter-institutional cooperation to combat child marriage through awareness campaigns and community support initiatives.
