Residents of Maheshkhali will now have easier access to Cox’s Bazar Development Authority (CoxDA) services with the inauguration of a new zonal office at Gorokghata (near the jetty). This office will provide essential services such as land use clearance, building design approval, contractor registration, and engineer or developer registration—eliminating the need for residents to visit the main CoxDA office in Cox’s Bazar. This move is expected to save time and money for the people of Maheshkhali.
The zonal office was inaugurated on February 1, 2025, by Commodore Mohammad Nurul Absar, NGP, NDC, PSC, BN (Retd.), Chairman of the Cox’s Bazar Development Authority.
During the event, he expressed optimism that this new office would play a key role in the planned development of the hilly island upazila of Maheshkhali. Senior officials, including CoxDA’s Engineering Members, Secretary, and other representatives, were also present at the inauguration.
