The ‘Cox’s Bazar Community Alliance,’ a platform of Cox’s Bazar residents living in Dhaka, has called for the installation of an environmentally friendly, biodiversity-themed modern sculpture at Kolatali Intersection, the main gateway to Cox’s Bazar town.

On Tuesday, the organization submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, urging the replacement of the existing sculpture with a contemporary piece of art that reflects the region’s climate history and maritime heritage.

The alliance proposed that renowned sculptors, architects, and university students from across the country be involved in designing and building an international-standard landmark sculpture, enriching Cox’s Bazar’s identity and offering visitors a symbolic welcome to the coastal city.
