Celebrated thinker, writer, and intellectual Salimullah Khan has been honored with the Bangla Academy Award 2024 for his outstanding contributions to Bangla language and literature. He received the prestigious award in the Essay/Prose category, marking a moment of immense pride for the people of Cox’s Bazar.
The award was presented by Dr. Muhammad Yunus, serving as the chief advisor of the event. This recognition is a testament to Salimullah Khan’s lifelong dedication to knowledge, literary analysis, and intellectual excellence.

A Brief Biography
Born on August 18, 1958, in Maheshkhali, Cox’s Bazar, Salimullah Khan comes from a political family. After completing his higher studies at Dhaka University, he pursued research at The New School, New York, earning a PhD on “The Theory of Central Banking in England (1793-1877).”
Throughout his academic career, he has taught at Rajshahi University, East West University, Stamford University, and the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB). He currently serves as the Director of the Center for Advanced Theory.
This prestigious recognition further cements Salimullah Khan’s legacy as one of Bangladesh’s most profound intellectuals and literary figures.
