Bangladesh’s longest sea beach, Cox’s Bazar, has been bustling with tourists throughout January. The scenic beach and popular tourist spots like Inani, Himchari, and St. Martin’s Island remained packed with visitors, especially on weekends and public holidays.

Due to the overwhelming number of tourists, finding hotel accommodations has become challenging. Many hotels, motels, and resorts were fully booked in advance, making it difficult for last-minute travelers to secure a stay.

Local hotel owners stated that December and January witness the highest influx of tourists yearly, and this time was no exception. Many visitors faced difficulties arranging accommodation within their budget, leading to inconvenience.

While the tourism boom has brought profits to local businesses, it has also resulted in traffic congestion, service shortages, and complaints about overpricing. Authorities claim they are actively monitoring the situation and taking necessary measures to ensure a smooth experience for visitors.

Tourists from different parts of the country advise booking hotels online in advance to avoid last-minute struggles and high accommodation costs. Otherwise, they might face difficulties finding suitable lodging.
