After several delays, the much-anticipated inauguration of the Cox’s Bazar District Model Masjid and Cultural Center is finally set to take place this Friday. Despite previous plans by the religious affairs advisor and the chief advisor on two separate occasions, the event could not proceed for various reasons.
However, Dr. A. F. M. Khalid Hossain, the government’s religious affairs advisor, is scheduled for a two-day visit to Cox’s Bazar. He will arrive in the district on Thursday, and on Friday at noon, he will formally inaugurate the model Masjid and cultural center as the chief guest.
This information was confirmed through the official itinerary sent by his secretary, Sadeq Ahmed.
The four-story Masjid, built with an investment of approximately TK20 crore, boasts modern amenities and a visually stunning architectural design. It can accommodate 1,200 worshippers at a time. Additionally, the ground floor houses an Islamic cultural center, enriching the spiritual and cultural landscape of the region.
