The seas are teeming with hilsa as fishermen bring in abundant catches. Businessmen buy the prized fish, carefully process them, and pack them in insulated Styrofoam boxes.
The businessmen then seal these boxes and load them onto trucks for distribution. From Cox’s Bazar, these trucks deliver hilsa to various parts of Bangladesh, including Dhaka, Rangpur, and Rajshahi.
Mizanur Rahman, a fish trader, shared his process: “We purchase the fish in bulk directly from the fishermen. After sorting them by size and quality, we pack them in Styrofoam boxes for shipping. This method helps us secure good prices.”
In addition to hilsa, traders and customers are satisfied with the transportation of other varieties of fish, based on demand.
