The Cox’s Bazar District Police have launched the country’s first Online Bus Terminal, which aims to enhance road safety and ensure better transportation discipline.

This innovative platform operates as a website, enabling users to book tickets, manage parking, and streamline transport operations.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Md. Jasim Uddin Chowdhury said the system proved highly effective during the busy December tourist season.

The online platform received over 3,000 applications and granted nearly 2,000 permits. Special privileges were extended to buses reserved by educational institutions, business organizations, and corporate groups, ensuring smoother operations.

The online system enforces strict conditions for bus operations. For instance, buses must proceed directly to designated parking zones after unloading passengers. Parking in hotel, motel, or guesthouse zones is strictly prohibited.

Police Superintendent Muhammad Rahmat Ullah said that tourists and passengers from across the country can effortlessly book their preferred buses and tickets through www.obtcoxsbazar.com.
